TAG: Inaugural Traditional Architecture Gathering

Delivered a keynote for the inaugural Traditional Architecture Gathering (TAG) introduced by Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) in the historic At-Turaif District in Diriyah. The gathering brought together a renowned group of scholars, traditional architecture experts, specialists in traditional design and crafts, invitees and guests from across the world. It gave an opportunity to visitors and participants to study the area’s traditional architecture and craftsmanship. At the same time, a series of sessions and workshops was held on the occasion, dedicated to traditional and Najdi architecture, and highlighting various artistic works that shaped the identity of the ancient At-Turaif district and have left a profound impact on Najdi culture, architecture, and lifestyle. The inaugural gathering shined the spotlight on the historic Diriyah community and its art forms, particularly those featuring harmonious designs and intricate embellishments on streets, corridors, spaces, and buildings facades.
