An Evening With” Fall 2025 Lecture Series: MIT Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture

Gave a talk on Musalla Typologies  as part of MIT Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture ‘s Fall 2025 lecture series. To introduce musalla typologies, the  lecture  provided scattered glimpses  from the research underpinning the inagural edition of the AlMusalla Prize Prize and the publication  accompanying it. The Rooted Transience project delves into the form and philosophy of the musalla as a temporary prayer space within Islamic cultures—an ephemeral structure that emerges where the need for prayer arises. By embracing adaptability and impermanence,  the musalla challenges conventional notion of permanence in architecture, offering a profound model for spatial and cultural resilience.
